Our core services
Clean Truck Check (HD I/M)
California's Clean Truck Check program requires periodic emissions testing for nearly all non-gasoline vehicles over 14,000 lbs GVWR. We run OBD and opacity testing at your yard and transmit passing results straight to the state.
Diesel smog checks for trucks, RVs, box trucks and out-of-state vehicles operating in California. Includes pre-test smog inspection, retest smog inspection and emission waiver assistance if a unit fails.
A deep clean of the EGR circuit, DPF and intake system that dissolves carbon buildup and restores power and fuel economy — typically far cheaper than replacing a clogged diesel particulate filter.
Onsite emission system diagnostics and check engine light diagnostics. We read live data, pinpoint the fault code and tell you exactly what it takes to pass your next smog test.
Annual DOT inspections and 90-day BIT inspections performed at your yard so drivers stay on the road. We document everything you need for a roadside stop or a CHP terminal audit.
Mobile interior vacuum, cab wipe down and exterior wash. A clean truck reflects your brand at every delivery and keeps drivers comfortable on long hauls.
How much does a mobile Clean Truck Check cost in San Diego?
Our mobile Clean Truck Check (HD I/M) starts at $150 per vehicle. Because we operate as a fully mobile smog inspection station, that price includes credentialed HD I/M emissions testing performed at your yard anywhere in San Diego County — no towing, no shop wait time.
How often does California require a Clean Truck Check?
CARB requires most non-gasoline vehicles over 14,000 lbs GVWR to be tested periodically, moving to a biannual (twice-yearly) compliance schedule as the program phases in. We track your due dates and submit passing results to CARB for you.
Do you provide mobile diesel smog checks for RVs?
Yes. We perform diesel smog checks and emissions testing for RVs, motorhomes, box trucks, and all heavy-duty non-gasoline vehicles over 14,000 lbs GVWR so you stay compliant with CARB regulations.
What areas around San Diego do you service?
We provide mobile emissions testing and fleet smog inspections in San Diego, Jamul, Poway, Bonita, Santee, La Mesa, Calexico, Coronado, El Cajon, Lakeside, Escondido, Oceanside, Chula Vista, Lemon Grove, Ramona, Tecate, Del Mar, National City, Imperial Beach, Lincoln Acres, and all surrounding areas. Our shop is located in the Otay Mesa neighborhood at 7210 Otay Mesa Rd.
Are you a state-certified smog check provider?
We are a Clean Truck Check (HD I/M) certified, licensed, and insured mobile testing provider. Passing OBD and opacity results are submitted immediately and securely to the state through the CARB Clean Truck Check database.
Can you help with emission waiver assistance and failed tests?
Yes. If a truck fails, we walk fleet managers and owner-operators through the retest smog inspection process, repair documentation, and emission waiver assistance so your equipment keeps working while the issue is resolved.
Do you test out-of-state and older vehicles?
We handle out-of-state vehicle emission testing for trucks operating in California, plus older vehicle smog testing using opacity (smoke) testing for pre-2013 engines that are not OBD-equipped.
What is the Diesel Force service?
Diesel Force (starting at $1,500) is a deep cleaning of the EGR circuit, DPF, and intake system that removes carbon buildup and restores lost power and fuel economy — often avoiding a costly DPF or EGR replacement.
San Diego service area questions
Location-specific answers for fleets in Otay Mesa, the South Bay, and across San Diego County.
Where is Fleet Emissions Solutions located in San Diego?
We are based at 7210 Otay Mesa Rd, San Diego, CA 92154, in the Otay Mesa neighborhood — minutes from the Otay Mesa commercial port of entry and the SR-905 / I-805 freight corridor. Because we run a fully mobile smog inspection station, you do not drive to us; we drive to your yard.
Do you come to my yard in Chula Vista, National City, or Otay Mesa?
Yes. Chula Vista, National City, Imperial Beach, Lincoln Acres, Lemon Grove, and Otay Mesa are all in our core South Bay coverage area, typically reached the same day from our Otay Mesa base. We test at your yard, terminal, or job site so trucks never leave dispatch.
How far north do you travel for mobile emissions testing?
We routinely travel throughout San Diego County, including Escondido, Oceanside, Poway, Del Mar, Ramona, Santee, Lakeside, El Cajon, La Mesa, Bonita, Jamul, and Coronado. We also serve Imperial County border communities such as Calexico and Tecate for scheduled fleet visits.
Can you test trucks crossing at the Otay Mesa border?
Yes. Cross-border carriers operating in California must meet the CARB Clean Truck Check (HD I/M) requirement, and non-California-registered trucks are subject to the program when they operate in the state. Our Otay Mesa location lets us test drayage and cross-border fleets close to the port of entry, and our team assists in English and Spanish.
Is there an extra travel or mobile fee in San Diego County?
Mobile Clean Truck Check pricing starts at $150 per vehicle and includes travel within our San Diego County service area. For long-distance or out-of-county requests, we confirm any additional travel cost in writing before we schedule the visit.
How quickly can you get to a San Diego fleet yard?
We schedule 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and South Bay and central San Diego locations can often be covered same day or next day. Multi-truck fleet visits are batched into a single appointment so an entire yard is tested and filed with CARB in one stop.
Do I still need a California smog check station if you test on site?
No. Heavy-duty vehicles over 14,000 lbs GVWR are covered by CARB's Clean Truck Check program rather than the BAR smog check station network, and our credentialed testers submit passing OBD and opacity results directly to the CARB database from your San Diego job site.
Do you handle DMV registration holds for San Diego fleet vehicles?
A missing Clean Truck Check compliance record can block DMV registration for affected vehicles. We test the vehicle, submit the passing result to CARB, and provide documentation you can use to clear the compliance record — plus retest and repair guidance if a truck fails.
